Walking saber model 24/27 The Pattern 24/27 Walking Sabre is a replica of the walking sabre used by the corps of sergeant guards and senior sergeant guards (pattern 24/27). It consists of a blade, handle, and sheath. Key features of the knife: - The blade is made of wedge-shaped cross-section steel and is slightly curved along its entire length, gradually tapering towards the tip. The blade has a tang at the top which connects it to the handle. The axis of the tang is offset relative to the edge to facilitate easy weapon handling. The blade length (without handle) is 750 mm, width 23 mm, and thickness 5 mm. There are no decorative elements (inscriptions, linden branches, etc.) on the blade. The blade is hardened and then tempered to a hardness of 48 HRc. - The handle consists of a grip with a ring, back of the grip, guard, and handle screw. - The grip is made of beech wood, hollowed inside for the tang and covered with goatskin.
