The Czechoslovak customs service model 1932 lion version was worn by customs officers until 1939. It was introduced by government decree No. 131/1932 of July 22, 1932. During the Protectorate period, it was worn to a small extent by the customs service of the newly established Slovak State, featuring various modifications of the former First Republic state emblem.
Key features of the Mečík:
- The hilt is cast from brass, then chased (i.e., hand-finished with a palm carving chisel) and subsequently gilded. The lower guard is straight with an oval shape from above. It is decorated with interlacing and a rectangular cutout for threading the tassel, and each side is finished with a small ball. The center of the hilt is inlaid on both sides with mother-of-pearl; the front side features a gilded Czechoslovak state emblem measuring 12 x 15 mm, while the other side has a handle scale attached with rivets. Only the lion version’s handle scales are additionally secured on both top and bottom by overlapping gilded plates. The upper part of the hilt on both sides is finished with a linden leaf engraving, above which dominates a finely crafted lion head with mane and a ring in its mouth for threading the tassel. The removable lion head is fixed with screws on some Mečíks, both in lion and lioness versions. The cutout for the tassel on the central crossguard is missing.
- The blade is straight, double-edged, polished steel with a diamond-shaped cross-section and a slightly raised longitudinal central ridge. The blade tip has a gradual curvature of the edge, and the ricasso on this blade is smaller than on, for example, aviation dirks, which have blades similar in shape and design.
- The blade’s ricasso bears the original decoration: linden branches and the letter "Z" in a circle; the opposite side shows the mark Vrkoslavice (manufacturer Jan Zineddr Vrkoslavice). In some cases, Czechoslovak customs service Mečíks have ricassos without manufacturer marking. Among some collectors, Hynek Hojtaš Prague is sometimes cited as the manufacturer of these Mečíks.
- Mikov version:
- The blade’s ricasso bears the Mikov manufacturer’s mark.
- The other side of the blade’s ricasso shows the serial number of the limited edition; each piece is an original.
- The blade is made of high-quality stainless steel and hardened to a hardness of 56 HRC.
- The metal sheath comprises a simple narrow upper fitting (mouthpiece), below which on the front side is a suspension hook shaped like a linden leaf for attaching the suspension strap. The lower fitting of the sheath on both sides is beautifully decorated with four linden leaves. Between the upper and lower fittings is glued smooth leather in a darker green shade.
- The Mikov version is available in green or optionally blue color.
- All visible metal parts of the sheath are gilded.
- Suspension strap – in the official version, the entire pocket is made of green smooth leather with two ribbons of either golden eyesight or green smooth leather, finished with two golden-colored carabiners.
- The Mikov version is available in green or optionally blue color.
- The official tassel is made of gilded dracoun with a semi-enclosed acorn filled with a green bottom.

Product Description Knife GRYPHON - 41st mechanized battalion Žatec GRYPHON Knife This is a combat knife developed in 2010 on the initiative of the command and soldiers of the 41st Mechanized Battalion in Žatec. The design and name of the knife were chosen based on the unit's requirements and traditions. The knife's development was signed not only by its author, Major Roman Hippík, but also by the battalion soldiers who thoroughly tested the knife before its introduction to the unit. Its construction allows for the widest possible use both in work and in close combat. The blade is made of Böhler N690 stainless steel, which is one of the notable knife steels with excellent sharpness and resistance to damage and corrosion. The guaranteed hardness is 58-60 HRc. The blade is engraved with the text MARCH OR DIE. The handle consists of leather rings.
