LIST Paracord PARACORD CORD, or parachute cord, is a lightweight nylon cord originally used in the suspension lines of American parachutes during World War II. Paracord construction Paracord consists of two main parts: Sheath: A braided outer layer made of nylon fibers. It is colored and protects the core. The sheath is braided from 32 or 36 strands.
