JAVELIN knife

JAVELIN is a combat knife designed exclusively for members of the 44th Light Motorized Battalion from Jindřichův Hradec. It originated from the initiative of the battalion's command and cooperation with its members. The knife was modeled after the already established Finger knife used by the 2nd Motorized Company of the 44th Light Motorized Battalion. The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel, a prominent stainless steel known for its excellent cutting ability and resistance to damage and corrosion. The guaranteed hardness is 57-60 HRc. The handle is made of black G-10 material.

The development of the knife began in July 2021, and after tests and minor adjustments, serial production started in 2022 by Mikov s.r.o., which also took part in its development. Besides its primary use in various combat situations, the Javelin knife also bears the symbolism of the battalion. Thus, the knife becomes an integral part of the battalion’s traditions and its distribution is limited exclusively to core unit members or those to whom the battalion command decides to produce the knife.

The name of the knife is derived from the weight relief grooves, which by their shape and hint of line extension resemble the shape of a spearhead (English: Javelin). The circle (wheel) in the knife’s butt, besides its functional use, refers to all vehicles used by the battalion. Each knife is manufactured with a high degree of handcraft and undergoes individual inspection. Mikov guarantees a 7-year warranty, which does not cover normal wear and tear or defects. The knife is not intended for the general public.
