LIST Paracord PARACORD CORD, or parachute cord, is a lightweight nylon cord originally used in the suspension lines of American parachutes during World War II. Due to its extreme strength, durability, and versatility, it has become an indispensable tool for survivors, outdoor enthusiasts, and craftsmen alike. The total length of the cord is 2 m. Paracord construction Paracord consists of two main parts: Sheath: A braided outer layer made of nylon fibers. It is colored and protects the core. The sheath is braided from 32 or 36 strands.
